This week we have a new item in stock - the all-purpose protein cooking mix, Protein Pow. Of course, cooking with protein powder is nothing new - there are recipe books dedicated to cooking with protein powders - but this is the first high protein mix specifically designed for use in cooking that we have seen, and on first appraisal, it looks good! It's a very versatile product with lots of different possible uses, but to get you started, we've provided this simple and easy recipe so you can make your own protein bars. They're tasty, nutrititious, easy to make, and cheaper than buying them yourself!

Almond & Coffee Protein Bars

Ingredients

30g Whey Protein Pow Mix
25g Almond Butter 
15g Agave Syrup
5ml Freshly Brewed Espresso

Protein bar

Directions

In a bowl, mix all ingredients together using first a spoon and then your hands until you get a dough that you can shape with your hands into either bars or truffles. If your batter is proving too crumbly, add a tiny bit more of the coffee. Shape your dough into either 4 truffles or two bars.

Refrigerate and eat later, or enjoy them immediately!
