Why

Postlit is a supplement like no other post-workout we have witnessed to date with amazingly high doses of recovery enhancers such as bcaa's, glutamine, betaine and hica to name just a few which will ensure faster muscle recovery and accelerated protein synthesis while the use of the number 1 carbohydrate in the game, highly branched cyclic dextrin at a perfect 25g dose means nothing else will combine recovery of both glycogen and muscle stores quite as well as Postlift.

When

Postlift is designed for use after a workout only. We would say though that if you are only doing a light workout, or performing cardio, you can afford to skip this and instead use it for your most demanding sessions if cost is a concern.

Who

Anyone can take Postlift but we would say its intended audience is the obsessive athlete or bodybuilder who desires the best possible choice at all times as this is certainly it at this time.

Predator Nutrition Postlift Review

Nutrex have recently revamped their line moving away from the hype associated with their lineup and moving towards an approach based on science and open, transparent labels and one of the results of this is their new post-workout Postlift and we are happy to report that this is a post-workout which not only marks a revamping of the Nutrex brand but also sets a new standard for what a post-workout supplement should do.

The Dark Days of Post-Workouts

There was a time, not so long ago either, that two supplements were popular above all others, protein powders and post-workouts. The latter was based on the widespread acceptance that the first thing a trainee needed to do at the end of a workout was to chug down a mix of high glycemic index carbohydrates alongside some protein so that your body would take advantage of the famous anabolic window at the end of a training session when insulin sensitivity was optimised. By delivering a ratio of around 4 parts carbohydrates to 1 part protein at this time, the theory went that you would recover at a superfast rate, your muscles would swell up almost immediately and you'd replenish glycogen and muscle protein stores greater than would be possible using anything else.

Still believe that?

In truth, this was not a million miles and recovery at least would be very good if you adopted this strategy. Unfortunately, what this approach tended to deliver was rapid recovery but also, especially for those with poor natural insulin sensitivity, an abundance of fat gain.

Solving the Puzzle with Postlift

As science moved on, it became apparent that while the theory above worked for endurance athletes (the subjects of the studies which led to these conclusions) it did not make so much sense for bodybuilders who used up much less carbohydrates. The rising popularity of low carb diets among many as well as differing tolerance to carbohydrates among bodybuilders meant the modern approach for an athlete would be to limit carbohydrate consumption to a more sensible levels and then swap protein powders for faster acting free form amino acids, especially branched chain amino acids since these get to work more quickly as they do not need to be digested in the same way as protein does.

A Stunning Achievement

This is where Postlift's formula makes sense as it reduces the carbohydrates per serving to 25g, and instead of using the simple sugars of old it employs highly branched cyclic dextrins which are a low osmolality carbohydrate which is better for accelerating glycogen replenishment without the gastric distress associated with sugars. Postlift then adds in a truly stunning 10g dose of branched chain amino acids, higher than any comparable product we can think of which act to activate the mTOR signalling receptor that initiates a cascade of anabolic processes in the body to enhance muscle protein synthesis.

It gets better, as Nutrex have also included a slew of supporting ingredients in the form of 5g of glutamine, an amino acid which is rapidlyu depleted during exercise, as well as recovery enhancers in the form of l-carnitine-l-tartrate, betaine, taurine and HICA, each of which has been included in Postlift off the back of extensive research in their ability to positively affect recovery.

What to Expect From Postlift

We have used Postlift for a full tub before writing up this review and we can say that from the very first dose of this we felt less muscle soreness after a workout, improvements in muscle fullness and faster gains in performance even while allowing us to train with higher volumes.

Nutrex have termed Postlift, along with their preworkout Outlift, as part of their clinical edge series, a range of premium supplements using high doses of scientifically proven ergogenics. While many companies will say they use science to formulate their products we have never seen a company be quite so bold as Nutrex in their commitment to doses that would scare other companies off due to the high costs associated with them. While Postlist is not the cheapest post-workout in the world it is a must for anyone who is concerned simply with getting the best product on the market as nothing else comes close, at least not for non-endurance athletes with lower carbohydrate requirements. We are not afraid to give a product a bad review, so similarly when one stands out as a class apart in its category we can promise you that this is the real deal.
