As a keen cook and a bit of a food snob, I typically regard ready meals with suspicion. The ones found in the supermarkets usually taste processed, lack flavour and are devoid of nutrients, and the look of the finished product rarely lives up to the tantalising photos displayed on the packaging.

Given these preconceptions, I can't pretend that as I popped my Performance Meals pouch in the microwave, I did so with an open mind. But I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised. Flavoursome and filling, it left my taste buds feeling satisfied and my body and mind ready to face the busy afternoon ahead. Whilst no ready meal can compete with the taste of home-cooked food, I can't recommend Performance Meals enough for those mealtimes when you just want something quick, easy and nutritious.

Nice flavour, not too spicy. Good balance of macros and not too high in carbs. nGreat when you're in a hurry 2 1/2 mins in microwave and your done. Can be eaten cold, not sure I'd fancy it that way though.
