Why

Reflex Beta-Alanine is an easy way to improve your performance thanks to its ability to increase carnosine levels which acts as a way for your body to help buffer lactic acid and thereby delay the dreaded burn that will be familiar to anyone who trains with high reps or performs high intensity cardio. Even better, research shows that by working in a different manner to creatine, the two complement each other.

When

Beta-Alanine is often used pre-workout but research has consistently shown that this is an ingredient that needs to be taken daily for a few days to see evidence of an ergogenic effect so feel free to take it when it is convenient. It can be taken on an ongoing basis as there is no evidence your body adapts to the effects but it is best utilised when performing high volume, high rep training.

Who

Anaerobic sport athletes like footballers, rugby players and tennis players will get the most from this as will bodybuilders who train with high reps and low rest intervals. If you are only the kind of person who lifts for 3-5 reps then you can probably give beta-alanine a miss.

Predator Nutrition Beta Alanine 156 Servings Review

Reflex Nutrition's Beta-Alanine is a cost-effective way for athletes to improve their performance over a higher repetition range which has made this compound a particular favourite among athletes whose sports involve a high degree of sustained duration activity such as football, and high rep weight training.

What to Expect From Reflex Beta-Alanine

Beta-Alanine works by increasing levels of carnosine which in turn plays a key role in helping to buffer the pain associated with lactate training, you know, the kind of training where the burn can be so intense that it is impossible to continue to train. Think of a 400m runner or performing high rep squats where your legs burn and you know what we mean. From personal experience with working with a football team here at Predator Nutrition, we found that it made it easier for players to sustain dribbling with the ball for longer without their legs fatiguing from the challenges of simultaneously controlling the ball as well as the agility and speed needed to evade defenders.

Stacking Options

The obvious candidate for stacking with beta-alanine is a creatine supplement; the creatine will help improve performance over the type of range associated with power activities (such as sub-10 reps in the gym or 100m sprints). Alternatively, for endurance athletes a good choice would be a nitrate based supplement or amino acids such as citrulline.
