Why

Professor Protein Chocolate Bars are a delightful fusion of high protein content with the taste and texture that you would only find in real chocolate. Compared to protein bars which contain the same 20g of protein found in the Professor Protein range, these bars are much more tasty and easy to eat with absolutely no taffy texture of after taste (these bars are also free of artificial sweeteners). The closest equivalent is the Nestle Yorkie bar but these have even more protein than those which puts them over the top.

When

You can enjoy these as you would a regular protein snack, either as a snack during the day or a post-workout treat. You probably want to limit use if dieting or on low carbs though.

Who

Anyone seeking arguably the best tasting protein rich bar available today who does not mind a little sugar and fat while having it.

Predator Nutrition Professor Protein Bar 10 Bars Review

Professor Protein is a new British brand whose first product, their Professor Protein Bar makes you take notice of it immediately thanks to the comic-like drawing of a cartoon Professor on the label. However, interesting design aside, we are much more interested in how this product would fare nutritionally and from the perspective of taste.

Professor Protein Bars - Unreal Taste

As a new brand, you have to do something to set yourself apart in the market and the taste of these bars certainly does that. Most closely resembling Nestle's Yorkie Protein Bars, Professor Protein Bars have a satisfying texture, no after-taste and none of the chewiness associated with high protein bars. What's more, we passed these to a few of the office's chocolate fiends and the highest praise we can give them is that even regular chocoholics could not distinguish that these were actually a high protein chocolate bar.

Coming in a variety of milk and dark chocolate flavours, we really would regard these as a high protein chocolate rather than a protein bar since they much more closely resemble what you expect from the former. With that said, how do they stack up as a protein product for those wanting a tasty but protein-rich chocolate?

Outstanding Protein Content

Each of the Professor Protein Bars clocks in at or around the 20g of protein per bar mark, and it is THAT which makes these something of a unique proposition on the market now as even the Yorkie Protein Bar, while it tastes fairly similar to this, does not come close to delivering a similar level of protein per bar.

While some people may prefer the protein came from a source other than soy protein, the fact is that this protein source is well suited for providing a satisfying texture to a bar and it should be noted that Professor Protein also contains dairy in the form of real milk or dark chocolate as well as real cocoa butter.

From a nutritional standpoint, the only downside we can see is that they are high in sugar and fats so do not think you can just eat these as you would a regular protein bar - ensure you monitor overall calorie content and work them into your diet that way.

Good substitute for normal chocolate

I bought the milk chocolate sea salt and caramel and really liked the chocolate flavour with the salty taste coming through. I would definitely recommend.
