Omega 3’s and fish oils have long been known to be beneficial for cardiovascular health and brain health. Omega 3 fish oils contain both docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). It is the EPA side that helps the cardiovascular system, and the DHA side that helps the brain. Salmon, mackerel, herring, sardines, lake trout, and tuna are especially high in omega-3 fatty acids.
And whilst foods are the best source of omega 3s, some people will struggle to fit these types of foods into their diet: this can be due to the cost or not liking the food itself.
